Benchmade's Weekender is a modern take on the classic Canoe slip joint pattern. Much like the popular Proper, the Weekender uses steel liners, composite scales and CPM-S30V stainless-steel blades for modern performance with a timeless feel. Two blades offer versatile utility, a saber ground clip point for heavy work and a flat ground spear point for fine tasks. One rear liner houses the essential bottle opener as well. This version comes with tumbled blades and gray G10 scales with anodized aluminum pivot rings.
Brand new, direct from Benchmade Knives.
Blades: The symmetrical handle houses two stonewashed S30V blades at either end of the handle both riding smooth on phosphor bronze washers. A sub-3 inch clip point comes with a saber grind for added durability, while the sub-2 inch spear blade is flat ground for optimal slicing. Both blades open via a through hole nail nick. The bottle opener rides on the spine.
Handle: Black hardware attaches simple contoured G10 scales to the steel liner construction for a solid, secure and comfortable handle. The symmetrical design is ergonomic for use of both blades with subtle guards for added safety along with the half stop slip joint operation.
No pocket clip.
CPM-S30V: A PM stainless steel developed specifically for use in knife blades, S30V has good wear resistance (edge retention) and corrosion resistance, better than 440C or 420HC. The powdered process refines the grain, improving performance for a balanced blade steel. Toughness is comparable to other PM stainless steels.
