The budget friendly 'little big knife' Byrd Robin 2 took design inspiration from the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 lightweight and offers a compact yet powerful daily carry folder with a sub-2.5 inch blade. Bidirectional textured black FRN handles are comfortable, durable, and designed for a secure grip with a minimal carry footprint. Now the Robin 2 is available with a powerful and precise Wharncliffe profile blade. This version comes with black FRN handles and a satin finished fully serrated blade.
Brand new, direct from Byrd Knives by Spyderco.
Blade: The sub-2.5 inch Wharncliffe blade comes with a high performance flat grind, fine satin finish and assertive fully serrated cutting edge. A fine point offers precision in cutting and piercing while the straight cutting edge delivers power from heel to tip and plenty of cutting edge for larger tasks. A comet shaped 'bird's-eye' hole opener offers easy, ambidextrous, one-hand operation on the rugged and reliable bronze washer pivot.
Handle: Durable FRN handles have molded, bidirectional texturing and rounded edges for an ideal balance of comfort and traction. A forward choil delivers added control during use and a full 4-finger grip while the time tested back lock keeps the blade secure and resists unintentional opening. Inset, skeletonized steel liners add support for a rock solid foundation.
Carries via a 4-position stainless steel pocket clip.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and takes a razor sharp edge with ease. Edge holding is relatively low.
